“Hallelujah”, Carrie Underwood e John Legend: testo e significato

Il brano, che non ha nulla che vedere con quello di Leonarh Cohen, é presente nell’album natalizio di Carrie Underwood “My Gift”

Un canto di speranza, una invocazione a tempi migliori in un momento storico in cui se ne ha davvero tanto bisogno. É il commovente “Hallelujah” cantato da Carrie Underwood e John Legend per chiudere il Global Citizen Prize 2020.

Una interpretazione emozionante, che l’artista country e il vincitore dell’EGOT, 41, hanno voluto accompagnare con un video musicale che dallo scorso 20 novembre é caricato su YouTube e che ad oggi ha già raggiunto gli oltre 4 milioni e mezzo di visualizzazioni. Anche se i due artisti erano in posti diversi a causa della pandemia di Coronavirus, la performance di Legend e della Underwood é risultata perfettamente sincronizzata.

Mentre lui, in giacca da smoking ricamata, suona al pianoforte e lei in piedi, in abito argentato, canta, l’intera stanza si trasforma in una ambientazione da sogno. Gli alberi di Natale dorati, i fiocchi di neve candida, le candele accese, il caminetto scoppiettante completato la scena, festiva e romantica. La magica atmosfera natalizia e la speranza di un futuro diverso e pervaso d’amore riempiono il cuore dei protagonisti, portandoli a sognare a occhi aperti il momento perfetto che tutti noi vorremmo.

Il brano, che non ha nulla che vedere con la tradizionale canzone portata al successo da Leonarh Cohen e interpertata negli anni da oltre 300 artisti, porta con sé tutta la sensibilità di John Legend che lo ha scritto ed é presente nel recente album natalizio di Carrie Underwood intitolato”My Gift”, settimo album della cantante statunitense.
