“Let’s Say For Instance”, l’album di inediti di Emeli Sandé

La cantautrice britannica di fama internazionale Emeli Sandé condivide oggi il nuovo album di inediti Let’s Say For Instance, via Chrysalis Records. Let’s Say For Instance, la sua prima uscita su un’etichetta indipendente, segna, dopo un decennio passato tra palchi e radio, una nuova era del grande talento di Emeli. Il disco è stato anticipato dalla hit “Brighter Days”, da “There isn’t much”, “Look what you’ve done”, “Family”, “Oxygen” e dalla recente “Ready To Love”.

Sfruttando al massimo il suo home-studio durante il periodo di lockdown, Let’s say for instance vede Emeli esplorare un nuovo territorio musicale attraverso suoni caratterizzati da sfumature di musica classica, disco, nostalgico R&B e altro ancora. Tematicamente parlando, l’ispirazione per l’album ha assunto molte forme: dall’innamorarsi perdutamente in “July 25th” e “September 8th”, all’incoraggiamento per una maggiore fiducia in se stessi in “Yes You Can”, descrivendo il testo come “the light at the end of the tunnel”, scavando più a fondo oltre la rappresentazione spesso semplificata della salute mentale e della depressione, fino a “Another One”, che ha come argomento l’uguaglianza razziale.

Con pieno controllo creativo sembvra proprio che Emeli si sia liberata dalle aspettative, mettendo in mostra le sue capacità olistiche di cantautrice, produttrice e interprete in un modo nuovo e incredibilmente versatile. Insomma, “an ode to resilience, rebirth, and renewal”, come lei stessa afferma.

Emeli ha aggiunto sul disco: “For me to be in the space I’m in now, I couldn’t have rushed. Of course, three years ago, I would have loved to have been in this place; in love, making music that I love. But you just can’t do it until you’re ready, and the world is ready and the circumstances are in place. I am so thrilled that my fourth album “Let’s Say For Instance” is out today. It is an ode to resilience, rebirth and renewal. Although I am exploring new sounds, I believe that my lyrical and melodic signature will still be felt, especially by those who have followed me closely throughout all these years. I hope the freedom I have found within my spirit and voice will be heard and shared through this album”.
