Therefore I Am: Billie Eilish a spasso in un centro commerciale (vuoto)

Dopo My Future, rilasciato a luglio, la statunitense Billie Eilish ha rilasciato una nuova – cliccatissima – canzone. Ecco il videoclip

Billie Eilish non le manda certo a dire, e lo sanno bene i suoi fan. Tra opportunisti ed haters, la cantante statunitense classe 2001 ha deciso di farci sapere cosa ne pensa di certe persone. È infatti questo il senso di Therefore I Am, il nuovo singolo uscito neanche tre giorni fa.

D’altronde, non è la prima volta che la cantante di Bad Guy, di Ilomilo e di No Time To Die si trova al centro di insulti a mezzo social. In particolare, secondo alcuni Therefore I Am contiene più di un riferimento a tristi vicende che hanno coinvolto e coinvolgono ogni giorno migliaia di donne. Già nei mesi scorsi Billie Eilish intraprese una campagna di sensibilizzazione a riguardo, eseguendo un intenso monologo.

Il clip del nuovo singolo è ambientato in un centro commerciale, rigorosamente vuoto per rispondere alle esigenze sanitarie legate alla pandemia da coronavirus. Nel testo della canzone anche una citazione colta: è la celebre Cogito ergo sum cartesiana, che in Therefore I Am diventa I think, therefore, I am.

Diretto da lei stessa, il videoclip è stato pubblicato sul suo canale di Youtube e ha  già raggiunto oltre 12 milioni di visualizzazioni. Therefore I Am è pubblicata da Darkroom/Interscope Records.
